Hip Hop Hypedog: Introducing Mazworth

Hip hop hypedog posted an article about me on their blog. The article also features some of the tracks I played at the Louis Den show in October.

"Manchester native Mazzie aka Mazworth is one to keep an eye on. A part of the ever-growing creative force that is Louis Den, he has been sitting in the wings, honing his craft and it seems that he is ready to step out. He recently took part in the Louis Den Beat Cypher and sent through some of tracks he had prepared for the night, which was a collection of ideas that showcased him in his element.

First up is "Crest", a melodic down-tempo ride through filtered synths and swinging percussion, holds the most iTunes spins to date but for those that like their beat music served on a platter of sample chops with a side of mono leads, then the second offering, "Spooky Sample Flip" is for you. The final track "Prophecy" is a hypnotic bleep-fest that is sure to win him accolades from 8-bit fanatics the world over.

According to the man himself, an EP is in the works for 2011."

Major Project Proposal - Aims & Objectives

The main aims and objectives for this module are to commercially release an EP to the general public. As well as releasing the EP I will also be organizing and hosting a launch event for the release to the public. One other idea which I hope the EP will benefit from is to appear on a number of local radio stations like Unity Radio and All FM to promote the EP on air, this will hopefully help get more of the public down to the live show and help promote the EP further before its commercial release.

When I come to release the EP I'm hoping to release it digitally via iTunes, Amazon, HMV and Spotify. As well as a digital release I'm also looking to have some hard copy's pressed and put in independent record shops to sell to the general public.

The EP itself will contain not only my own production, but also elements of live instrumentation. There will also be numerous artist features throughout the EP, such as Dr Syntax, Rewd Adams, Truth, Jimmy Rygun, Hollie-Jay and R.C...

SSL Recording 3 Session

Yesterday I had a recording session in the SSL with a drummer for my recording 3 module. For this module I had to produce a track of around five to fifteen minutes of professional standard material.
As well as using microphone techniques to record any instruments for the composition I also had to edit and master the project and also add elements of MIDI to the composition.

Sivey Productions

This weekend I met up with my friend and fellow producer Sivey.
Hailing from London, Sivey has established himself in the UK scene over the past five or so years and continues to take the scene by storm. He has produced for the likes of Lowkey, Skandal, Stylah, RTkal, Nino Bless and had numerous plays on 1Xtra and Kiss FM.

It was great to catch up with Sivey and share production tips with him, he's been a big influence to me over the past few years and has helped me as a producer progress with my own production.

Be sure to check out some of his music via the links below.
